I am an American citizen, born and raised in Colombia, South America. I just graduated high school, and am going to Seattle for a semi-sabbatical, where I hope to work and take photography classes, as well. I don't have any paid experience, as teens in Colombia don't usually work, but I did volunteer at a local orphanage for about two years. There, I worked with children of all ages, and enjoyed it immensely. The reason why I enjoy working with children is I believe that children really are the future and as a caregiver, one can make a difference in the way a teacher does. I still keep in touch with my second-grade teacher, for example, as he helped me discover my passion for reading and encouraged me to read and read. I kept the first novel I ever read (which I did in his class), a children's version of "Little Women".
